Bell was born in Bloomington, Indiana, United States, the son of a psychologist and a therapist. Bell's father is the late Alan P. Bell, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of Indiana University, in Bloomington, a former Kinsey researcher.

Bell began taking violin lessons at the age of four after his mother discovered her son had taken rubber bands from around the house and stretched them across the handles of his dresser drawer to pluck out music he had heard her play on the piano. His parents got a scaled-to-size violin for their then five-year-old son and started giving him lessons. A bright student, Bell took to the instrument but lived an otherwise normal midwest Indiana life playing video games and excelling at sports, namely tennis and bowling, even placing in a national tennis tournament at the age of ten.

He started playing guitar around the age of 15, but confessed to have been very lazy and only learned three chords and nothing more for about three years. Ash began playing in cover bands, often together with future band mates David J and Kevin Haskins whom he knew since kindergarten. His first gig was in the Glasgow Rangers Workman's Club.

Ash had become friends with Peter Murphy in his teenage years. Ash went to art school and Murphy to work in a printing factory. They met up five years later and Ash suggested forming a band. Rigging up a makeshift rehearsal space, Ash played an Echo 12 - bar blues, while Murphy sang a series of newspaper articles. Four weeks after, they formed Bauhaus, and recorded "Bela Lugosi's Dead".

"Church" is a song by T-Pain. It is a fast-paced song led by guitar riffs and is one of the songs in which T-Pain raps. It appears on his album Epiphany and was released as the third single. The song "features" Teddy Verseti, one of T-Pain's aliases, which he uses when rapping vigorously. The song is about wanting to fight someone following a confrontation at a club. It was confirmed as the third single from Epiphany in an interview promoting the album.

In the video version, the lyrics are altered. It was featured on 106 & Park on October 22, 2007 as the "New Joint of the Day". The video is also the first single from the Step Up 2 the Streets soundtrack.

In the UK "Church" was the first physical single release from Epiphany and became the biggest chart hit from the album and T-Pain's second highest charting solo single. The single eventually reached a peak of #35, two weeks after the physical release of the song due to an overall increase in downloads of the Step Up 2 the Streets soundtrack singles. The single also peaked at #10 on the New Zealand RIANZ charts. The song was also certified Gold in New Zealand. Despite its UK and New Zealand success, "Church" failed to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, his first single to do so.

That Girl is the first single of Frankie J's album Priceless. It features Chamillionaire & Mannie Fresh. Also it is produced by Mannie Fresh. Slim Thug was on the original version, but Frankie J thought that having Chamillionaire would boost the song's commercial success because Chamillionaire was a more popular artist than Slim Thug at the time. Slim Thug's verses were omitted and Chamillionaire filled in the gaps. It debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 on August 17th, 2006 at number 100. Since then, the song has climbed to its current peak position of number 43.
